Abstract:
List of all woody species (trees, shrubs, palms, bamboos) in Gutianshan Nature reserve. This file contains all shrub and tree species listed in "Lou, L. H. and G. Y. Li (1988). Biota of Gutianshan Nature Reserve: list of seed plants. Manuscript.", which is the book Fang Teng used. Additionally the list contains abundance data: (1) individual numbers in the 24ha plot. (2) total individual numbers in the 27 CSPs. (3) based on these and Fang Tengs "guestimate" an abundances value as class (dominant, common, less common, very rare) which can be interpreted, based on the mean percentage individuals per class in 24ha-plot and CSPs as percentage individuals (4.75% 0.786% 0.1% and 0.001%, summing up to 100%) or more intuitively: 5%, 1%, 0.1% 0.001% (which sums up to 111%).

Note that the list contains one bamboo and a palm, which are woody, but not necessarily classified as tree or shrub. Note second that a number of species ist listed but has no abundance value ("NA"), because they occurr only as cultivated trees and do not occur in forest. These species were partly used during the build up of the phylogeny and thus are retained in the data set, but should be deleted if the species pool of the Gutianshan Nature reserve is analysed based on this list.
